Bihać is the largest town in the Una-Sana Canton and the centre of the Bosnian Krajina, set on the banks of the Una. A blend of rich history, nature and hospitality makes it an increasingly popular destination in north-western Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The old town core
In the centre stand the Kapetanova kula, the Fethija mosque and the turbe, witnesses to a turbulent past. A walk through the old core and along the Una is the best way to feel the spirit of Bihać — the centre is about ten minutes' drive from the villa.
Local cuisine
Krajina cuisine is known for dishes cooked under the sač, savoury pies and fresh river trout. There are many riverside restaurants in town where local specialities are served with a view of the Una.
Excursions nearby
Bihać is an excellent base for exploring: Una National Park, Štrbački buk, the Japodski otoci and the Plitvice Lakes are all close by. Your own transport and the free parking at LUXIA villa make excursions simple.
